Why is my job posted with the wrong location?

If you notice your job is posted on a job board with the incorrect location, follow the below steps:

1. Make sure the job ad was posted via JobTarget.

It sounds silly, but job boards tend to scrape careers pages to drive traffic, so it's a possibility that your requisitions will show up on a job site without actually being submitted through the JobTarget platform. If it was not posted via JobTarget, you'll have to contact the site directly to take your job down. If you have only posted your job through the JobTarget platform, move on to the next step.

2. Check to see if your job has the correct location in the Job Manager.

Log into JobTarget & search for the job in question within the Job Manager. Does the incorrect location display? If not, your job ad is likely being posted from another source, & you can contact the job site to remove the ad. If so, move on to the next step.

3. Look at your job within your ATS.

Log into your ATS platform & open the requisition in question. Does the requisition display with a valid city, state, zip code & country? Double check that the value entered in the "city" field is NOT a county, neighborhood, or unofficial territory - this often forces the job board to default your job to an actual city based on the zip code entered for the requisition.
