Accessing Sourcer
If accessing JobTarget directly, click "More Apps" in the navigation bar and select or search for Sourcer in the menu that pops up.
If accessing JobTarget through your ATS or HR software, click the menu in the top right corner of the JobTarget window and select Sourcer.
Select a Job
When you land in Sourcer, you'll be prompted to select a job you want to source candidates for.
You can either click "Select" next to the job of your choice, or click "Search Without A Job" at the bottom of the window. Use the search bar and filters at the top of the window to look for specific jobs.
Once you select a job, the job title and location will automatically populate in the Sourcer search fields. Simply click on the search icon to generate relevant candidates.
If you want to switch to a different job or search without a job, click "Change or Clear Job" next to the job location in the job bar.
How to Search for Candidates
Basic Search
To perform a simple search:
- In the "What" box, type in a job title, a skill, or a company.
- In the "Where" box, add in a location.
- Click the search button.
Advanced Search
- Click on “Advanced Tools” below the “Where” search box to include additional criteria.
- The Advanced Tools window will open. Here you can add additional filters to your search. Click "Search" when you're done adding information.
Contacting Candidates
- Once you find a candidate who seems like a good match for your job, click on the candidate card of your choice and select “Contact Candidate”.
- You’ll be brought to a screen where you’re able to choose to either invite the candidate to connect and attach a message or invite the candidate to apply to one of your open roles. (Note: this process will look different if you’re contacting a candidate from any of the Indeed, Dice, or CareerBuilder resume databases.)
- You can attach an existing job or enter a new one. You can also enter a message to the candidate. You can save messages as templates for quick and easy outreach. When done, press “Preview & Send” to view what your invitation will look like for the candidate.
- Once you are satisfied with your invitation, press “Send Message ”.
After sending an invitation to the candidate, candidate contact information becomes available to view and credits will be expended. If the candidate indicates they are interested, a flag will appear next to the candidate within the “Candidates” tab.
Regardless of status, there is no need to wait for a candidate to respond. You will have full access to all available contact information and can begin immediately reaching out through alternate channels, should you choose to do so.
How to Integrate Additional Job Boards
Sourcer allows users to integrate multiple resume databases like Indeed, Dice, and CareerBuilder. A user must first purchase a package with one of these databases. Once credits have been purchased, follow these steps to integrate the job board of your choice.
Please note: In order to use these additional resume databases, you need to have purchased credits for that database. If you have an existing contract, you can use that, or our Media Services team can help you select the right database for you and negotiate the best rates.
- Click on the menu on the top right above the search and choose ‘Integrations’ in the drop-down.
2. Click ‘Connect’ on the job board of your choice and input your login credentials for that individual job board. Once log-in is complete, the job board that you’ve integrated will appear alongside the “Internet” tab on the main Sourcer page when you search.
Using Credits
Each time you contact a candidate through Sourcer, a credit will be deducted. Candidates found through the “Internet” tab utilize JobTarget credits (the monthly amount will be dependent on your Sourcer contract).
Candidates found through the Indeed, Dice, and CareerBuilder integrations utilize contracts specific to those partners. JobTarget credits do not apply to Indeed, Dice, or CareerBuilder resume databases. You can either utilize existing contracts with these databases or get in touch with your JobTarget Relationship Manager or Media Specialist to learn more about purchasing a contract.
Managing Sourcer Candidates
The “Candidates” page contains all candidates that you’ve engaged with while using Sourcer, including both candidates you've unlocked and candidates you've only saved.
-
The “All Candidates” tab consists of every candidate you’ve engaged with, whether the candidate has been unlocked and contacted or saved.
-
The “Unlocked Candidates” tab includes all available contact information for those you’ve outreached to.
-
The “Saved Candidates” tab houses candidates that have not been unlocked but could be a potential fit for open roles.
Saving Candidates
If you find a candidate you like, but aren't ready to reach out to or use a credit to unlock, you can save the candidate. To do so, simply click the star at the bottom of the candidate card. The candidate will then appear in your "Saved Candidates" tab.
Adding a Note
You can add notes to candidate profiles, either for your own records or for other team members.
1. Click the menu in the bottom right corner of the candidate card.
2. Type out your note and click "Add Note" when done.
Candidate Activity
As you know, when sourcing candidates, you're often dealing with passive candidates that aren't actively searching for a new role. These candidates may or may not have recent information available for this reason.
If a candidate has recently updated their information, you'll see a blue flag at the top of the candidate card with the number of days since the last update below it.
