Candidate Manager User Guide

Learn how to review and manage you candidates in Candidate Manager.

Candidate Manager allows you to manage all your candidates from one central place. If you need to find a particular candidate, you can quickly search by name, email, or phone number. Candidate Manager will keep you and your team coordinated as you look for the perfect candidate for your open roles. 

In Candidate Manager, you can: 

  • View candidate details
  • Download or share a resume
  • Check or change the status of a candidate
  • Decline a candidate
  • Save a candidate 

Accessing Candidate Manager 

  1. Log-in to your account.
  2. Click on “Candidate Manager” in the navigation bar at the top of the page, or select “Candidate Manager” from the main dashboard. 

Search for a Candidate

Once you open the Candidate Manager, you'll have the option to narrow down to a specific job. You will also have a search bar and filters, which can be used to find specific candidates related to keywords, recruitment stage, and messaging conversation status.

View Candidate Details

  1. Using the search bar within Candidate Manager, search for the candidate you’d like to view.
  2. Once you have located the candidate, press the “Review” button.
  3. The “Candidate Details” page will open, and towards the bottom half of the screen, the resume on file for this candidate will display for you to view.

  4. Click the “Cover Letter” tab next to the “Resume” tab to switch from the candidate’s resume to their cover letter if the candidate provided one.

Download or Share a Resume

When viewing a candidate's resume, you have the option to download or share that resume. 
  • On the right side of the screen, just above the resume, you'll see icons to Print, Forward, or Download the resume. Simply click on the action you want to take. 
  • If you click "Forward", a window will open, prompting you to add the recipient's email address and an optional message. Click "Send" to email the resume to your chosen recipient.

Check or Change the Status of a Candidate

  1. Once a search has been made, candidates that match the specific criteria will appear below the search bar.
  2. Each result will indicate where the candidate is within the application and interview process. The progress bar will appear blue based on the candidate's status, whether that is “Candidate Applied,” “Under Consideration,” “Candidate Interviewing,” or “Candidate Hired.”
  3. To move the candidate to a further stage you can click int othe 'Stages' dropdown, or click 'review' to see more information about the candidate.

  4. If you click 'Review,' the Candidate Details page will open. You can change the status of the candidate by clicking which stage you’d like them to be in within the progress bar located towards the top of the page, or clicking the button above 'decline candidate', which will prompt you to move the candidate to the next stage.

    • Note that there is no way to move a candidate back to a previous stage after moving them forward.

Decline a Candidate

  1. Using the search bar within Candidate Manager, search for the candidate you would like to decline.
  2. Once you have located the candidate, press the “Decline” button.
  3. Choose the reason that you are declining a candidate (the candidate will not see this and is for internal use only) and include a message to the candidate if you wish. An email will be sent from JobTarget to the candidate, and the candidate’s status will be updated within Candidate Manager. The candidate’s profile will be saved under the “Declined” tab under the search bar.

⚠️ Please Note: If you decline a candidate, there is no way to reverse that decision. 

Save a Candidate

To save a candidate, press the star icon on a candidate’s profile.

All saved candidates will be kept under the “Saved” tab located under the search bar.
